JOB TITLE: SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETER

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
- Provide sign-language interpretation services to translate shows and news on Rwanda Television or in other instances,
- Interpret discussions, conversations, meetings, events, and other spoken word situations using Sign Language,
- Work effectively in teams with other sign language interpreters,
- Maintain awareness of best practices, emerging trends and new legislation relating to Sign Language/Interpreting functional area,
- Attend the workplace regularly, report to work punctually and follow a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite. Working hours may include evenings, holidays or weekends depending on deadline requirements and special events.
JOB PROFILES
- A1 in any field,
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in sign language interpretation,
- Sign Language certificate from Rwanda National Union of the Deaf (RNUD),
- Recommendation letter from RNUD signed by the Chairperson or the Executive Director,
OTHER SKILLS
- Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to work independently,
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community,
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English, knowledge of French is an added advantage.
