Job Purpose
A suitably qualified pilot will be designated as Co-pilot for the safe and efficient operation of the A330 aircraft.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
General Responsibilities
- Maintain familiarity with Rwandan and international air legislation and aviation practices.
- Adhere to provisions of the Company Operations Manuals.
- Monitor the flight, assist the Pilot-in-Command (PIC), and ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report hazards and occurrences.
Specific Responsibilities
- Assist the PIC in all flight operations for safe and efficient conduct.
- Act as Pilot-in-Command during emergencies requiring immediate decisions.
- Fulfill duties assigned by the PIC as per Flight Deck Management.
- Report safety hazards and occurrences as required.
Pre-Flight Responsibilities
- Read Fleet Notices and sign the Duty Plan.
- Collaborate with the PIC to review the flight plan, weather reports, and other documents.
- Verify ATC plans and ensure refueling and system replenishment if necessary.
- Cross-check take-off performance calculations with the PIC.
In-Flight Responsibilities
- Perform duties as Pilot Flying (PF) or Pilot Monitoring (PM) as per the Operations Manual.
Post-Flight Responsibilities
- Complete the Maintenance Log for the PIC’s signature.
- Ensure all flight-related documents are returned to the Flight Dispatch office.
- Assist with post-flight checks when required.
Job Requirements
Education and Certifications
- JAA/FAA/ICAO CPL/ATPL with required type rating.
- First Class Medical Certificate.
- Radio Telephony License or an endorsement on the flight crew member license.
- ICAO English proficiency level 4 minimum.
Experience
- Minimum total flying time of 1,500 hours, with 500 hours on RwandAir fleet type.
- No history of accidents/incidents due to gross negligence.
- For in-flight relief: At least 500 hours and evaluation by Flight Operations Management.
